Catan: Explorers and Pirates Expansion

Catan: Explorers & Pirates is the fourth major expansion for The Settlers of Catan. After Seafarers, Cities & Knights, and Traders & Barbarians, it brings five scenarios and three missions. Some scenarios use the missions, while others don't. This expansion differs from the base game in three key ways. First, there are three islands for players to explore, instead of just one. Second, players can build port settlements for two corn and two ore. These settlements give one resource when the adjacent number is rolled at the start of a turn. Third, if a player gets no resources during the production roll (except on a 7), they get one gold as compensation. Two gold can be traded with the bank for a chosen resource, and gold can also help you escape pirates.

How to use: Start by setting up the game with the expansion pack's three islands. Players can then build port settlements using two corn and two ore. When it's your turn, roll the dice at the start. If the adjacent number to a port settlement you own is rolled, you get one resource. During the production roll, if you don't get any resources (except on a 7), you'll receive one gold. You can trade two gold with the bank for a resource of your choice. Gold can also be used to escape pirates in certain scenarios. Note: Keep track of your resources and gold carefully. Make sure all players understand the rules of the scenarios and missions. Maintenance: Store the game in a dry place to keep the cards and pieces in good condition. Avoid bending the cards or losing any small pieces.
