You're at the ship's rail, watching a weary sun dip below the waves. Your navigator's got the right course, and the island you aim to reach by nightfall is dead ahead. After dropping anchor, you row to shore. The jungle's eerie animal noises make it seem unwelcoming but perfect for hiding. You find an untouched wooden crate, unlock it with your key, and there are the treasures you've stashed. The next day, after selling some goods in town, you're relaxing in a tavern when a commotion breaks out. Dozens of Indigenous people are rising up against European oppressors. You have a choice: sail away or join the fight against injustice. Storms are on the horizon - where will your sails take you? This first major expansion of Maracaibo comes with multiple modules and scenarios, like ousting dominant nations from the Caribbean in competitive or cooperative play. It also features asymmetrical player abilities, new optional stories, legacy tiles, and project cards. Solo players will face a new rival, Jacque!

To start playing with this expansion, just add the new modules and cards to your existing Maracaibo game. Each scenario gives you different goals, so pick one that suits your playstyle. If you're playing in competitive mode, try to outwit your opponents and achieve the scenario's objective first. In cooperative mode, work together with your friends to complete the goal. When you come across the new optional stories, take your time to read them and use the information to your advantage. The legacy tiles and project cards can change how you play, so don't be afraid to experiment. If you're playing solo, be ready to face Jacque. He's a tough rival, so plan your moves carefully.
