It adds new factions, home worlds, game tiles, two new dice types, and optional objectives to the base game. New players are advised to play without objectives in their first few games.

To start playing with the Ambition Expansion, first add the new game tiles, home worlds, and dice types to the base game. The new factions can be chosen at the start of the game. When playing, players try to complete the objectives, either the optional ones or just focus on the basic gameplay. For new players, it's best to skip the optional objectives in the first few games to get familiar with the new elements. There's no special maintenance required for this expansion. Just keep the game components in a dry place and in the box when not in use to prevent loss.
