Tzolk'in: The Mayan Calendar

Tzolk'in: The Mayan Calendar offers a brand - new game mechanism: dynamic worker placement. Representing various Mayan tribes, players place their workers on giant connected gears. As the gears spin, workers are transported to different action spots. In each turn, players can either place one or more workers on the lowest visible part of the gears (paying corn as in - game currency) or pick up one or more workers. When picking up a worker, they get to perform actions based on the worker's position. Actions later on the gears are more valuable, so it's smart to let time work for you. However, players can't skip a turn; if all their workers are on the gears, they must pick some up. The game wraps up after one full rotation of the central Tzolkin gear. There are numerous ways to win, like pleasing the gods by placing crystal skulls in deep caves or building lots of temples.

How to play: First, represent a Mayan tribe. In each turn, you have two choices. You can place your workers on the lowest visible part of the gears, but remember to pay corn as currency. Or you can pick up workers to perform actions according to their positions. The later the position on the gears, the more valuable the action. Note that you can't skip a turn. If all your workers are on the gears, you must pick some up. The game ends after one full spin of the central Tzolkin gear.
