John Darnielle of the Mountain Goats is a big Magic fan. His pinned tweet has said 'I want to play Magic: The Gathering' for years. He's shared songs about his MTG Arena progress and even held a live concert for the album In League with Dragons at Wizards of the Coast headquarters. We gave the Mountain Goats full creative control. Darnielle chose Lorwyn as the setting, wrote art descriptions, picked the artists, and reviewed the art. He also wrote the epic prophecy in the flavor text of these 10 cards. With the first extended art on basic lands, these mountains are the perfect home for the Mountain Goats.
